This weekend was great! I was invited to MC the Pet Parade at the Fifth Annual Islands Fest on Davis Islands. Check out the Fest website. Dogs strutted their stuff in front of the stage, competed in six categories (largest dog, smallest dog, best kisser, most talented, most adorable and most island inspired) and took home prizes from Wag (my holistic pet market).
The smallest dog was tiny yorkie named Izzie and the largest was an Old English Sheep Dog named Winston. He is only 6 months and already pretty large.
The amount of dogs at Islands Fest was amazing. Adoptable dogs hung out in the shade and were from foster groups such as St. Francis Society Animal Rescue, Dogma Pet Rescue, SouthEast Beagle Rescue and Hillsborough County Animal Services. And families walked around with their dogs all day! Good thing there was plenty of doggie water bowls available and used!
My foster dog Chico Otis was there…but only wanted me unfortunately. I tried to make him hang with the other dogs from St. Francis but he only cried and stared at me the entire time. How is this 7 year old little man going to get adopted?
All in all a good doggie day!
